Moragane Lodis' Story

We believe fashion is more than just clothing but an art form that should break barriers, such as inequality and pave the way for the next generation of women to be heard, seen and lead.

Meet Morgane who's battled figuring out her identity, not only did coming from two different cultures, which confused her but many of you may not notice, but she has a glass eye. I was truly inspired by her strength and she shared how it made it more difficult than ever as she worried about her image and clothing was her form of expression and to draw away from her face. Although along her journey she found her way and learned to love herself as she realised only she had the ability to make a change in her life and we were privileged to have her apart of our campaign.

And this is what she had to say about her new found strength, outlook on life and conversations with herself and now to you, woman to woman...

Just like Mahatma Gandhi says "People often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning."

I have a sense of gratitude for everything as I've been lost on the road then realised being lost was also the journey, that’s what I love about my life. It's a journey we need to embrace as we learn a lot.

As you get older you feel like you should have it all and know it all and that isn't the case, if I didn't feel lost at times myself there’s a possibility I would have never found myself.

If it wasn't for my struggles I would not be who I am today!

What is your #NoteToSelf and message to women, woman to woman?

“We are authentic, if something doesn’t feel like it's truly us, you shouldn’t wear it or do it. If we believe we cannot do something it makes us incapable of doing it.”

From speaking to Morgane, we learned we should be honest with ourselves, don't be afraid to be yourself and with this new attitude, eventually anything is possible!

If Morgane's story inspired you or you would like to share your story and be apart of the campaign, please get in touch info@lonseluet.co.uk.
